United Airlines is celebrating 31 years of flying from Australia to the USA in a whole new way by announcing a new non-stop flight path from Sydney (SYD) to Houston (IAH). 

With Australia's business leaders spending 80% of their time on the road or in the sky, there is a demand for more flexible and accessible flight itineraries. In an era where digital revolutions are rapidly driving new technologies to deliver faster, more effective products and services- how can the aviation industry adapt?

About the Speakers
 
Dave Hilfman, Senior Vice President Worldwide Sales, United Airlines
 
Dave Hilfman is Senior Vice President of worldwide sales for United. In this role, Dave is responsible for directing the efforts of a team of over 700 sales professionals who manage sales programs, relationships and revenue with corporations, travel management companies and distributors around the world.
 
Dave was previously senior vice president of worldwide sales for Continental Airlines from 2004 to 2010.
 
Dave started his airline career in 1981 with Eastern Airlines as a campus sales representative at the University of South Florida. He held sales positions of increasing responsibility with Eastern throughout the southeastern United States until joining Continental Airlines in 1986 where he served as regional sales manager in New York City and director of the western sales division based in Los Angeles. In 1992, Dave moved to the airline’s corporate headquarters in Houston, where he held the positions of senior director of U.S. field sales, vice president of multinational sales and revenue programs and vice president of sales and reservations.
 
Dave graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in finance.
 

Patrick Quayle, Vice President, International Network, United Airlines

 
Patrick Quayle is United’s vice president of international network.  Patrick is responsible for setting United’s long-term strategy and capacity decisions for international markets.
 
Patrick brings deep experience to this position.  Before joining United, he served as managing director of international planning at American Airlines, where he oversaw a $12 billion international route portfolio.  He also served as Managing Director of network and fleet strategy for American. Prior to these appointments, he held position of increasing responsibility at American across multiple departments. Patrick started his career in network planning at Continental Airlines.
 
Patrick received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Rice University, and his MBA from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom.

Drawing upon United’s successful 31 years in flying to and from Australia and discussing why adding the Sydney to Houston flight makes sense for customers, Patrick will also discuss the importance of connectivity and why it should matter to consumers.
