While in this role, he additionally acted as Chair of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, and was a regular delegate to IMF, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and APEC meetings.

As Ambassador to the US, Hockey has negotiated with the Trump administration on pressing matters such as trade and tariffs, security, refugees, and climate change.

Australia and the United States are this year celebrating 100 years of mateship, having fought together since the First World War’s Battle of Hamel in every major global conflict.
