 This burgeoning sector is a cornerstone for Victoria’s future economic landscape, forging connections between academic institutions, research bodies, entrepreneurs, financiers, and global markets.

Cameron McIntyre | CEO & Managing Director, CAR Group.

Cameron was appointed MD and CEO of CAR Group in 2017. Prior to this, Cameron held the positions of Chief Operating Officer (from October 2014), and Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for the previous seven years, including for the IPO of the Company in 2009. Cameron has over 30 years’ of finance and operational experience.

Cameron holds a degree in Economics from La Trobe University, Melbourne, is a graduate of the General Management Program at Harvard Business School and is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA).

Cameron brings unparalleled knowledge of the business and significant experience in strategy, mergers and acquisitions and management to the Board.

 

 

Rachael Neumann | Founding Partner, Flying Fox Ventures

Rachael Neumann is a co-founder and partner of Flying Fox Ventures, an early-stage investment firm supporting Australian and New Zealand founders with global ambition. 

Flying Fox has over 50 companies in its portfolio and has enabled hundreds of folks to start or turbocharge their investment journeys. Rachael plays across many parts of the startup ecosystem, previously as Head of Startups in Australia & New Zealand for Amazon Web Services and prior to that, Managing Director of Eventbrite ANZ. 

Rachael is passionate about helping companies scale and increase their impact through differentiated customer experiences and new product development.

 

John Viner | Head of Software Engineering - Teamwork Platform, Atlassian

John is a technology executive with 29 years experience creating software products for the investment banking, insurance, logistics, utilities, travel publishing, sport, digital marketplace and currently customer service industries. World class software delivery is a complex dance that brings together product ideas, user experience design, architecture, high quality testable software and frequent, iterative deployments to production. his career has been about choreographing teams, people, processes and technology to make that happen.

 

Dr Kate Cornick | Chief Executive Officer | LaunchVic

Kate has considerable experience in both technology and innovation across startups, corporate, academia and government.

In her time as the CEO of LaunchVic, Victoria’s lead startup agency, the sector has become a significant part of the Victorian economy.

In 2022 Kate received the Global Policy Champion award at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) for exceptional leadership in developing policies to helps startups grow and ensure a thriving early-stage investment landscape in Victoria.

She is also a council member of Charles Sturt University and Chair of the Genesis Fund for the University of Melbourne, Investment Committee Member, Alice Anderson Fund and Hugh Victor McKay Fund. Kate previously founded a human resources technology startup and led it
through an ASX listing. She was also the Senior Telecommunications Adviser and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy and worked as a General Manager at NBN Co.

Kate has a PhD in optical telecommunications from the University of
Melbourne.
