Anthony Ryan | Chief Executive Officer | Brisbane Economic Development Agency

Recognised as a ‘Queensland Great’ in 2013, Anthony is a well-respected and self-confessed sport loving local who is known for the passion and entrepreneurial spirit that he brings to all professional endeavours.

An inspiring leader with a proven track record in delivering strategic business outcomes and strong partnerships, Anthony is responsible for leading BEDA to drive sustainable economic growth for the City.

As Brisbane’s champion, BEDA works with stakeholders to enhance the City’s reputation globally, drive visitation and attract investment and talent, whilst looking ahead at emerging opportunities for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

 

Michael Junger | Director - Industry and Government Relations | Vaxxas

Mr. Junger has over 25 years of experience both as a pharmaceutical machine designer and as a medical device engineer, process engineer and R&D Manager. An early career in toolmaking and machining follower by formal study in mechanical engineering design, project and team management provides a wide base of skills for product development and manufacturing.

He has developed several novel medical devices and introduced new manufacturing processes and has multiple patents in the medical device field. Mike joined Vaxxas in 2012. 

 

 Professor John Fraser | Founder & Director | Critical Care Research Group

Professor John Fraser MB ChB PhD FRCP(Glas) FFARCSI FCICM FELSO is Founder and Director of the Critical Care Research Group; Director of the Intensive Care Unit at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital; Founder and Chief Medical Officer of De Motu Cordis Pty Ltd; and Immediate Past President of the Asia Pacific ELSO Chapter. John has five professorships across major Australian universities; has published almost 700 publications; and has received more than AUD 91 million in competitive grants.
 
In 2018, John was awarded the Australian Society of Medical Research Clinical Research Award. He is the proud father of five great children: Ben, Dominic, Nicholas, Lucy, and Tommy.

Shaun Kenny | Managing Director for Australia | Bechtel

Shaun Kenny is managing director for Australia, working across our GBUs in Australia to bring a whole-of-Bechtel approach to our strategy in the market. Four of our GBUs are engaged in or pursuing critical work in Australia. With this becoming an increasingly active and vital market for our growth, Shaun is responsible for ensuring our activities are coordinated to maximize our opportunities and success. 

With extensive experience in Australia and having led two of our GBUs as president during his 25-year Bechtel career. Shaun served most recently as the Infrastructure GBU president, where he has led the GBU to key wins, including our NEOM projects, the Serbian and Macedonian motorways, and the Ontario Line. He also restructured the GBU and refined its strategy to focus on renewables and clean power, heavy civil, and public infrastructure.
