 Damien Bailey, Partner, KPMG Law, KPMG
Damien Bailey is a partner in the KPMG Law group. He has been working on space related matters for the past 20 years, acting for both operators and suppliers of equipment and services. Damien has worked with leading satellite manufacturers and operators on the provision of satellite services for customers including the Department of Defence and Telstra. Damien has also worked on the acquisition, launch, sale and licensing of various satellites including nbn’s SkyMuster and Optus’ C1, B3, A1, D1 and D2 satellites. Damien has also provided regulatory advice on programs including Google’s Project Loon.
 Agnieszka Lukaszczyk, Senior Director for European Affairs, Planet
Agnieszka is the Senior Director for European Affairs at Planet, an Earth observation company which images the entirety of the planet each day. Prior to joining Planet, Agnieszka worked at the European Commission focusing on space data and policy and was the Brussels Office Director of the Secure World Foundation.
 Nikolai Khlystov, Lead for Future of Mobility Platform, World Economic Forum
Nikolai is the Lead for Future of Mobility Platform at the World Economic Forum and also manages the Global Future Council on Space Technologies, which brings together global multi-stakeholder experts in the space sector. Passionate about the potential of humankind to expand its existence beyond Earth by conquering new frontiers, Nikolai is thought-leader and promoter of space exploration.
 Nobu Okada, Founder and CEO, Astroscale
Nobu is the Founder and CEO of Astroscale. Founded in 2013, Astroscale is developing solutions for active debris removal services to mitigate the growing and hazardous build-up of debris in space.
 Steven Freeland, Professor of International Law, Western Sydney University
Steven is Professor of International Law at Western Sydney University, specialising in Commercial Space Law, and previously the Dean of the School of Law. He has also been an advisor to the Australian, New Zealand, Norwegian and several other governments on issues relating to national space legislative framework and policy and has represented the Australian Government at the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Users of Outer Space (UN COPUOS) meetings. He has recently been appointed by UN COPUOS to co-chair multilateral discussions on the exploration, exploitation and utilisation of space resources at the forthcoming meeting of the UN COPUOS Legal Subcommittee in Vienna in 2020. |
