Sandra Dickison

Ms. Sandra Dickison is the senior representative for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia. As Office Director and Energy Attache, Ms. Dickison supports the Department’s bilateral engagements with Australia.

Prior to this position, Ms. Dickison was the Deputy Director for Multilateral Engagement within DOE’s Office of International Affairs. In this role she oversaw DOE’s engagements and policy priorities across a variety of international organizations, including the International Energy Agency (IEA), United Nations (UN), G7, G20, Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), and Mission Innovation (MI). She managed a dynamic team that worked closely with foreign governments, industry, and other stakeholders to advance U.S. energy, science, and nonproliferation priorities across international organizations, as well as through energy-related negotiations. In addition, she managed international collaborations with Pacific and Caribbean islands, developing new markets for innovative energy technology solutions. 

Previously, Ms. Dickison was a Senior International Advisor in DOE’s Office of American Affairs, leading bilateral energy cooperation with the Caribbean, Central America, Southern Cone, and the Organization of American States. From 2015 to 2017 Ms. Dickison was a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) with DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) where she led technology-specific programmatic collaborations with Sub-Saharan Africa, Israel, and India. 

Ms. Dickison earned a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University.
