Live from America

ABOUT LIVE FROM AMERICA

AmCham’s Live from America Series covers all things American: the 2020 Presidential Election, Doing Business in America, the economic impact of Covid-19, US-China trade relations, and more.

Amidst the presidential election posturing, pandemic restrictions, racial riots, civil unrest, soaring unemployment, and political tensions, what will drive the world’s largest economy on its road to recovery? Perhaps the recent successful SpaceX launch offers a clue: will private business and industry pave the way for innovation and economic recovery? Or will it be government-led stimulus that brings America and the world economy back from economic contraction?

The United States is Australia’s largest foreign investment partner. Australian growth is reliant on the deep and liquid capital markets in the United States. Where does the current situation leave both of our countries and what should businesses know now and be thinking about in the future to be sure they are at the forefront of the recovery?
