About the Event

The American Chamber of Commerce in Australia presents No Longer "Hypothetical" – Cyber Security in 2022
Cyber Crime is a $10.5 trillion economy. The crimes occur with three distinct impacts:
1. Theft of IP for commercial or political gain
2. Fraud of individuals or organisations
3. Ransom of key assets and infrastructure.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Critical infrastructure systems can be highly vulnerable to cyber-attack by hacktivists, terrorists, or state sponsored cyber adversaries. Vulnerability of infrastructure and technical failures is a real concern among security specialists and insurers, with shutdowns and ransoms potentially resulting in estimated damage of hundreds of millions from lost business.

Cyber-attacks against physical operating technology are forecast to rise with the ever-increasing use of connected devices, and many business leaders feel that it’s not a matter of if, but when they’re breached.
Understanding the possible scenarios and responses to a potential breach can make or break a company.
In this engaging and entertaining discussion, award winning journalist and presenter Laura Jayes will role play a major cyber-attack upon critical infrastructure, and cross examine a selected panel of experts to confront the problem, its implications, and responses to manage this dramatic scenario.
