David Moffatt

David Moffatt has over 40 years’ experience in executive leadership, CEO and board positions for Australian and US companies in telecommunications, finance and industrial services. He has lived and worked in Australia, the US, Europe and Asia. In May 2025, David was appointed Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia. David joined the Board of Directors in August 2024. David is also Chairman of Ventia Services Group Limited, and Chairman – Australia and New Zealand of Apollo Global Management. David’s previous roles include Chief Financial Officer and Group MD Consumer for Telstra Corporation Limited and Finance Committee Chair of Foxtel Limited. David is the Foundation Chairman of Giant Steps Limited, an autism education, therapy and support organisation helping children, adults and families dealing with autism. David and his wife Lindy Shelmerdine live in Melbourne.

Her global career began in the US with Hewlett Packard and expanded across major multinational organisations including Apple, AT&T, Ericsson, Motorola and KPMG, where she drove competitiveness through people and rethinking work processes, strategic partnerships, advanced data analytics and technology innovation.

Richard Alcock AO is a member of Bank of America’s Australia Advisory Board and former Vice Chairman, Global Banking and Markets. Previously, from 2007 to 2017, Richard was Bank of America, including Merrill Lynch, Managing Director for Transport, Infrastructure, Power and Utilities. Prior to this, Richard was a partner of the law firm Allens for 19 years in Sydney, Singapore and Jakarta. From 2011 to 2023 Richard was Deputy Chairman and Chairman of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, Westmead and Randwick, and Western Sydney Local Health District, respectively, leading seven public hospitals in Sydney, and was an active participant in the redevelopment of the Westmead and Randwick Health and Education Precincts. In 2018, Richard was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the community, particularly through health administration roles, to the law, corporate governance and to higher education organisations. In 2021, Richard was awarded an honorary doctorate of the University of New South Wales for his contribution as a lawyer, investment banker and public health advocate.

Dr Clark was appointed Chancellor of Monash University in 2024 and is a member of the Global Advisory Council of Bank of America Corporation and Chair of the MITRE Australia Advisory Council.

A strong advocate for Australian science and innovation, Dr Clark served as the inaugural Head and Chair of the Advisory Board of the Australian Space Agency, Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), and several senior roles in the resources sector. In 2014, Dr Clark was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia for eminent service to scientific research and development through fostering innovation.

Dr Clark’s appointment reinforces AmCham’s focus on fostering innovation-led growth and deepening the Australia–US economic partnership. Her extensive experience across science, technology and industry will help the board provide insights and connections for AmCham members as they navigate emerging opportunities, strengthen cross-border collaboration, and drive innovation and competitiveness in both markets.

Megan Clark is uniquely placed to understand the Australian research and innovation ecosystem and advocate for industry participants pushing the boundaries of the possible,” said AmCham Chairman David Moffatt. “Her ability to connect enabling institutions to innovators will be essential to AmCham’s efforts to foster Australian innovation.

Ellen Lord served as the inaugural US Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment from 2017 to 2021. Prior to this, she was President and Chief Executive Officer of Textron Systems, a global defence and aerospace subsidiary of Textron, Inc., a Fortune 500 company. She is a board member for AAR Corp., Parsons Corp., SES S.A., Trident Systems, Exiger, NIOA Group and the U.S. Naval Institute. Additionally, she serves on a number of advisory boards including PsiQuantum, MIT Lincoln Lab and Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Her appointment substantially strengthens the Board’s defence sector expertise at a strategically critical time for the United States and Australia.

As CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia, April Palmerlee leads the nation’s most influential international business organisation, representing over 600 companies and one million professionals. She also chairs the AmChams of Asia Pacific, uniting 29 regional chambers. With more than 25 years in international relations, policy, and business, she has held senior roles at the US Department of State, Council on Foreign Relations, and US Studies Centre.

She has led delegations to global forums including APEC, OAS, and the UN. A dual US-Australian citizen, she is a member of Chief Executive Women and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2025, she was named one of AFR’s top Women in Leadership and received APAC Insider’s International Trade & Business Networking CEO of the Year award. Fluent in several languages, she is passionate about cross-cultural engagement and advancing US-Australia business ties.

Dominic Perrottet

Dominic Perrottet is Vice President, International Affairs and US at BHP, based in Washington, DC. In this role, he leads BHP’s International Affairs and US Corporate Affairs teams, strengthening the company’s engagement with governments, policymakers, partners, and stakeholders globally. Prior to joining BHP, Dominic served as the 46th Premier of New South Wales from 2021 to 2023.

Over a 13-year career in the NSW Parliament, he held several senior economic portfolios including Treasurer, Minister for Finance, and Minister for Industrial Relations, and represented the electorates of Castle Hill, Hawkesbury, and Epping. His ministerial career was marked by a focus on economic reform, fiscal management, and major infrastructure investment. Dominic holds degrees in law and commerce from the University of Sydney and began his career as a solicitor before entering public service.

As the voice of international business interests, throughout Australia and the US in particular, AmCham’s story has always revolved around its members, and our ability to provide them with invaluable access to opportunity.
