Part A - General Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all individuals and organisations engaging with AmCham events, programs, and services.

1. Event Cancellation Policy

  • Unless stated otherwise, tickets are transferable in the event a registered guest cannot attend.

  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

  • Cancellation before the Cancellation Date, as noted on the order confirmation or tax invoice: a credit will be issued. No refunds will be paid. Credits expire 6 months from the date of cancellation.

  • Cancellation after the Cancellation Date, as noted on the order confirmation or tax invoice: transfer is the only option. No credit or refund will be issued.

  • If AmCham reschedules an event: if you are able to attend on the rescheduled date, your payment will be transferred. If you are unable to attend, a full refund will be paid.

  • If AmCham cancels an event: a full refund will be paid.

2. Academy

Program Overview

  • Nine expert-led workshops, a full-day in-person module delivered by the University of Sydney, and a 12-month Action Learning Project assessed by the University of Sydney.

Micro-Credential

  • A non-award, stand-alone digital badge issued by the University of Sydney under its Continuing and Extra-Curricular Education Policy. It does not provide academic credit or articulation into other qualifications. 

Recognition

  • Participants who complete the full program, meet the 80% attendance requirement, and submit the required Action Learning Project in accordance with the program brief and timeframe will be eligible for the Micro-Credential issued by the University of Sydney. The project submission must be the participant’s final assessed piece of work and must be lodged by the due date advised by the program team. Participants who complete the University of Sydney module and meet the 80% attendance requirement, but do not meet the Micro-Credential requirements, will receive a Certificate of Completion. Participants with partial participation may receive a Certificate of Attendance at AmCham’s discretion. 

Fees

  • Fees are payable in full before program commencement and are non-refundable except under AmCham’s event cancellation policy.

3. Credit Card Surcharge

All invoices paid by credit card will incur a surcharge:

A tax invoice will be issued for the surcharge. Please contact your AmCham state office for processing. 

4. Trade Mission, Conference, Gala, Door Knock and other Special event Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions for trade missions, conferences, galas, door knocks, and other special events are outlined on the relevant registration form and tax invoice.

5. Photo and Video Disclaimer

Photographs or videos taken at AmCham events may be used on social media or other promotional channels. If you do not consent to be included, please notify events@amcham.com.au.

6. Privacy

AmCham complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and all applicable data protection laws.

7. Liability

AmCham’s liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

8. Dispute Resolution

AmCham aims to resolve any issues through negotiation and mediation.

Part B - Membership Terms & Conditions

These terms apply specifically to AmCham members and are agreed to upon application and payment of membership fees.

1. Membership Term & Payment

  • New membership commences upon application and payment. 

  • Renewal invoices are issued prior to expiry; membership is renewed upon payment. 

  • Payment terms for new members: on receipt of invoice. Membership is recognised on receipt of funds and entitles all member company employees to membership benefits, including member rates for events Australia-wide. 

  • Payment terms for renewals: due date is related to each member’s term dates. 

2. Membership Refund Policy

  • All membership fees are strictly non-refundable once payment has been processed, whether or not membership benefits are used in full or in part during the membership term. 

  • By completing payment, the member acknowledges and agrees to this policy. 

3. Transferability

Membership benefits are attached to the member company and are not transferable to another entity without AmCham’s prior written consent. 

4. Branding & Publicity

AmCham may list the member’s name publicly. Use of a member’s logo requires prior written consent.

5. Compliance & Ethics

Members are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with all applicable laws, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption legislation.

6. General Provisions

  • All notices should be provided in writing. 

  • These Membership Terms & Conditions are subject to the General Terms & Conditions set out in Part A above.
